The Crew in Tahoe
On a last minute expedition, the Codewars team took a break from the startup hustle and headed up to Tahoe to snowboard some fresh powder. Jake and myself, along with our marketing intern, Sean (also my brother), spent a long weekend at our investor Paige's Tahoe cabin in Zephyr Cove. We chased a storm up north and made it just in time for the aftermath of blizzard conditions, so in the midst of a light winter, we got blessed with a few feet of fresh powder.

My First NYC Marathon
Sean and I just powered through our first marathon in the great NYC. Across the five boroughs, it was 26.2 miles of intensity and pain - and completely worth it. We had the experience of a lifetime, full of lessons and insights into our conscious creation of our reality... At 19 years young Sean flew through it at the front of the pack with an amazing time! And of course it was all made possible with loving support from our amazing family and my beautiful girlfriend, infinite thanks!

The Mexican Sea Voyage
This summer we embarked on an epic boating journey up the coast of Mexico. With my great friend Matt, as Captain, and a crew of 5 others, we voyaged from Puerto Vallarta back to San Diego. We set out on a long voyage full of the world's best fishing.
The adventure was one full of excitement and challenge. To navigate the Matta Ray back home we had to hustle boat parts through customs, fix constantly broken electronics, a hilarious cast of characters and lots of delicious fresh seafood meals.
Stopping at El Banco, and the Tres Maria Islands, we pretty quickly scored some tuna and electric hookups. We then navigated the vast Sea of Cortez, with gorgeous nights under the sky. At night the phospholuminescent plankton in the water would light up our wake, and we had lots of squid and night creatures visiting the boat. After being rerouted due to a large storm swell, we made harbor at La Paz up the coast for a few relaxing nights out on the town. We then made it down to Cabo for a great week of nightlife, daytime fishing and surfing in Costa Azul.
Over the course of the voyage we caught Marlin, Tuna, Dorado, Squid, Grouper (my favorite) and even an elusive Wahoo.
While the journey was to continue from Cabo through San Pedros and finally to San Diego, after 2 weeks of travel I had to bid the party farewell and fly back to the startup grind. Having had an amazing adventure, had a chance for real reflection and lots of ocean-time.
