Tropical Storms in Fiji

In keeping with the theme of backdated posts, I'm now posting photos from a trip to Fiji in April, this way no one expects anything in real-time and I can continue to live real life.

At the end of March I went to Fiji on The Quest with my mentor and friend Matt Brauning, along with a small group from Australia and the US. In between life-changing experiences, survival situations, and an immersive study of Spiral Dynamics, I also embarked on a photo mission.

Then towards the end of our visit Tropical Cyclone Daphne hit Fiji with devastating floods, which caused havoc in the main island of Viti Levu. In a State of Emergency all flights were grounded, visitors were restricted from entering the country, and at one point I had to evacuate an area by helicopter.

These shots were taken during the calm before the storm in Savu Savu, Fiji's hidden paradise. There I met some of the most amazing Fijian's and experienced a culture unlike any other.

Paradise near Puerto Vallarta

In light of the New Year, I'm going to stay on top of things... which means posting photos from October. These are from a last minute trip to Mexico. We stayed in a gorgeous town north of Puerto Vallarta and even got to take out the boat for some fishing (caught some Mahi Mahi). Relaxed, reevaluated and of course made some serious moves.
