Tropical Storms in Fiji

In keeping with the theme of backdated posts, I'm now posting photos from a trip to Fiji in April, this way no one expects anything in real-time and I can continue to live real life.

At the end of March I went to Fiji on The Quest with my mentor and friend Matt Brauning, along with a small group from Australia and the US. In between life-changing experiences, survival situations, and an immersive study of Spiral Dynamics, I also embarked on a photo mission.

Then towards the end of our visit Tropical Cyclone Daphne hit Fiji with devastating floods, which caused havoc in the main island of Viti Levu. In a State of Emergency all flights were grounded, visitors were restricted from entering the country, and at one point I had to evacuate an area by helicopter.

These shots were taken during the calm before the storm in Savu Savu, Fiji's hidden paradise. There I met some of the most amazing Fijian's and experienced a culture unlike any other.
